The three great short films of the competition "The Ryhthm of Vienna", organized in collaboration with the Vienna Tourism Board, premiered at the METRO Kinokulturhaus. The films are available online: shortfilm.vienna.info. If you vote for your favourite you can even win a trip for two to Vienna.

15 short films are nominated for the European Film Awards this year - among them three competition films from VIS 2016 and one award winning documentary: "A Man Returned" by Mahdi Fleifel (UK/DK/NL).

The European network of young cinema associations, Nisi Masa, played a special role at this year's festival: Not only did the organization hold its General Assembly in Vienna, Nisi Masa also hosted a workshop for young film critics during VIS.
